Katz N Jammers

In 2019, a new band was formed when Quincy Underwood called Jim Hotchkiss, Gerald Hams & myself together to do a show for the American Legion Post 34. I brought in a drummer (Robert Bradford) and I asked Quincy if he'd also join the band (He hadn't intended to, but he's a wonderful vocalist who's been around the world singing). Quincy named the band Katz N Jammers, (change in spelling from the original Kats & Jammers that Jim & I played together in). We will be doing classic rock with a little country & gospel mixed in, as well as our own original songs. Jim & I are both songwriters and enjoy singing a few of our own.

Almost immediately, we were called on to do other shows including  the Old Timers Day Cruise In downtown Dickson. That was a lot of fun. Although the rain scared most of the cars and people away (We were also a little worried about the rain & our equipment), the cars that came were so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes off of them.We included a 50/50 drawing along with several prizes just for fun.
Classic cars and classic rock. We'll see you out there..... somewhere. Just Having Fun in the Sun!!!
Check the schedule for upcoming shows including (rained out) car show, May 11 on the square in Charlotte, the American Legion Dance in Waverly, the third Friday, May 17 at 7 pm. And the American Legion Memorial Day Celebration  May 26 at 11 am

From Dickson County's Old Timers Day Facebook page:
The 61st annual Old Timers Day celebration will include a new event that combines classic
cars and classic rock and roll.
The first Old Timers Day Classic Car Cruise In will be at 5 pm Friday, May 3. In addition to
what organizers hope will be a variety of classic and antique vehicles,
the Middle Tennessee-based Katz N Jammers band will be rocking through the night.
“During past Old Timers Day festivals, we’ve had a few classic cars on display. But we want
to make this Cruise In a special time to not just come out and see some special cars, but also enjoy
some music,” said Horace Perkins III, an Old Timers Day Committee member and Classic Car
Cruise In coordinator. “There are a lot of people in the Dickson County area who restore and show
classic cars or even add something special to a newer model.”
The Old Timers Day Classic Car Cruise In will be on South Main Street in the block between
the War Memorial Building and the Municipal Building, from West Walnut Street to West
Chestnut Street. Admission is free.
The Katz N Jammers will be playing 6-10 pm on the War Memorial Stage built last year on
the west lawn of the War Memorial Building campus, which is a traditional center of activities for
Old Timers Day. The Katz N Jammers band plays regularly at venues in Waverly and has been
featured at the Cow Patty Festival and annual Independence Day celebrations in Cumberland
Furnace. They play a variety of classic rock songs from the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s, as well as
country, pop, adult contemporary and gospel.
The band includes guitarist and vocalist Kathy Humphrey, vocalist Quincy Underwood, bassist
and vocalist Jim Hotchkiss, lead guitarist and vocalist Gerald Hams and drummer Robert Bradford.
Humphrey and Hotchkiss also write some of the band’s songs, such as “You Baby” and “She’s
a Wild Woman.”
The Old Timers Day Classic Car Cruise In is open to all vehicles. Registration is not required
and there is no cost to enter. All participants displaying a classic car will receive a mini Old Timers
Day license plate.
The theme for the 61st annual Old Timers Day festival is “Keeping Music Alive.” The schedule
for Saturday, May 4, in downtown Dickson includes the Civitan Pancake Breakfast, Kicking
Asphalt 5K Run for the Community Foundation, the parade, Robert Spicer Memorial Dance
Competition, live music on multiple stages, essay contest for fifth graders, horseshoe contest,
cornhole contest, , the 2nd annual Dickson County Trivia Contest, food and craft vendors, living
history displays and more.
